Fundamental truth’s facing Reiki Masters today
1.) The Solo Healer:
Embarking on the journey to become a healer is fundamentally a solitary endeavor, regardless of the environment. Reiki reveals profound inner and outer truths that require a state of quiet receptivity and deep reflection. Even when surrounded by a community of fellow healers, your personal response to energy is unique and deeply subjective. While forming connections within a spiritual community can be beneficial, it is important to acknowledge the discomfort that often comes with releasing dis-ease. Ultimately, the quest to discover the divinity within yourself must come from your own motivation and commitment. This solitary journey is not only essential but also lays the groundwork for anyone aspiring to be a healer—until the student is truly ready to advance.

2.) A Master’s Dilemma:
Becoming a Reiki Master undoubtedly transforms your life, yet it’s disheartening to encounter many Reiki Masters whose lives feel chaotic and unfulfilled. This reality seems paradoxical, doesn’t it? Given that everything is energy and you’ve mastered this energy, you might expect these individuals to flourish, effortlessly manifesting their desires. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for many. While Reiki consistently works, the moment you step out of your spiritual bubble into the complexities of the world—whether it’s in your career, forming friendships, or developing romantic relationships—tensions often emerge between your deep spiritual insights and the sometimes harsh realities of your external environment. You’ll need to forge new thoughts, create fresh neural pathways, and establish new templates for living. Abundance in love, wealth, creativity, charisma, health, and vitality is indeed within your reach, but it requires you to make bold new choices, especially in situations where you once felt confined. Crucially, your will must resonate with Divine Will; without this alignment, the journey toward manifesting your goals can feel exceedingly challenging.
3.) Pitfalls on a Healer’s Path
There are 4 common pitfalls that many healers encounter after becoming certified Reiki practitioners.
- The first is the misconception that Reiki will seamlessly integrate into every facet of their lives with little effort. Reiki cannot override our personal will. Often people underestimate the strength of their habits, attachments, entities, personal and ancestral karma. Even something like a defensive personality will need to be transmuted. The culturally created self will need to be cleared to make way for the authentic self. People who approach healing for superficial reason’s rarely get past this phase.
2.) People that are turned off by the shadow side of life. They conflate healing with only good-vibes, and would rather not face the denser energies. Chances are, if you refuse to look at shadows without, you won’t see the shadows within, and you will stagnate. I call these people “those that seek the water for its quench, but never for it’s cleanse”
3.) Harboring the belief that living the life you truly desire, while truly embodying the divine, is out of reach or incompatible with your spirituality. This isn’t the same as aligning your will with divine will, but rather the thinking that if they’re suffering, they’re doing it right. These folks might turn down their noses at wealth or easeful living. While Reiki increases your capacity for compassion and empathy, there are no celebrated vows of poverty. You won’t get “spirit-fingers” for living a drab, uninspired life, or for suffering because the world is suffering.
4.) The assumption that the title of “Reiki Master” signifies the completion of their learning. I can’t be the only person that wishes the title Reiki Master” wasn’t getting passed out like lei’s in Hawaii (if your hotel price is right) In the last (of many) Master class I took, there were clearly students there that didn’t have basic level 1 & 2 knowledge down. Spirit will do with them what it will, but I think its important to recognize that ss a “Master” you now have the capacity to receive a light quotient that is high very indeed, but that doesn’t mean you’ve maintained it or Mastered anything. In truth, this marks the beginning of a profound exploration. If you’re actually to be a Masterful healer, you’ll never feel “done”. You will feel called to repeat your training, ignitions, attunemnts, and learn other modalities to support your growth. Some Reiki Masters have the certificate but are not otherwise dedicated or practicing healing. The door will be open for them to continue, but a Master is not made in a weekend.
5. ) Sticking with Mainstream Reiki
While mainstream Reiki lays a crucial foundation, it often falls short in addressing the nuances of your daily life and the unique challenges of being human. It does not clarify what true mastery entails in practice. For example, you are not trained in objectivity, consistency, and spiritual discernment. If you only use traditional systems of Reiki you miss out on the energy systems that can truly transform your like and aid in manifestation.
6.) Not having a mentor or community with other healers.
The benefits of Reiki are endless. It can assist you in integrating your authentic self, healing dis-ease of all kinds, releasing stagnant energy or entities, revealing toxic environmental factors, and highlighting the impact of negative influences in your life. However, Reiki alone cannot hold you accountable or offer practical guidance during moments of doubt when everything feels ineffective. Reiki can’t give you a hug or make you laugh and forget what you’re upset about. Reiki is not humanity and will not force you to live your life. Healers that isolate themselves risk having to learn the lessons of vulnerability and trust. Those are not fun lessons. Healers also need to be in the company of high vibrational individuals with integrity so that they maintain thier vibration comfortably. You’ve likely heard notions such as you can’t rise higher than the individuals you associate with, or that you should never heed advice from someone whose life you wouldn’t desire. While these ideas may come off as elitist, they are deeply rooted in the laws of vibration and remain true even after you embrace the role of a Reiki healer.
5.) The Power of Reluctance :
Many Reiki students are apprehensive about advancing through the levels. They may get asked so much for healing from others and they feel a sense of ( why me?? ) Let me tell you something- those are the brightest students! The ones have humility and want to heal themselves first- the reluctant ones- those are healers that will have the most solid foundation for advanced energy systems. Eventually they will get their wings and shed the imposter syndrome. When they do, their ego will be tempered and their motivations pure. Sprit will flow through them with ease and grace.
I started my Reiki journey in 2009 with Usui Ryoho levels 1 and 2, becoming a Reiki Master after doing only self-treatment for a year. I expanded my skills with Karuna Ki and Karuna (™ eye-roll) adding Angel Healing ( integrated energy therapy or I.E.T) and later Pranic healing. While exploring various modalities, I found Reiki to be my constant love. It kept me safe and fortified me to pursue more advanced studies. I even pursued Master training three times, including Holy Fire Reiki with William Rand. However, prior to Holy Fire, I delved into advanced healing modalities beyond traditional Reiki. The most profound transformation in my healing journey came when I ventured into unconventional Reiki systems, unlocking a wealth of power and life-altering discoveries that have enriched both my life and those I heal.

It was an exhilarating yet isolating experience! I had vivid dreams, impressions, and guidance that I couldn’t share with anyone except my mentor, Mariah Napieralksi, aka Mariah Windsong Couture.
