Buckle your celestial seatbelts, folks! It’s gonna be a doozy. March adds accelerated, triggering curveballs. We’ll have two eclipses and two retrogrades. This forecast will give you some helpful perspective, a.k.a. warnings, so you come out unscathed.

As Venus swoops into retrograde in Aries from March 1 to April 12, get ready for a chance to revisit, review, reconcile, and reclaim everything Venus represents. Venus is not simply the planet of romantic love, money, and beauty but also the mighty ruler of truth, harmony, and justice! Without these vibrant elements, our relationships can wither, finances can dry up, and beauty can fade. This 6-week transit may give us the sting of isolation as we may feel a greater distance from our ideal life or partnership. But the truth is, our idealism is getting a much-needed tempering and revitalization.

Established relationships may feel tense as we navigate internally. Add Mercury retrograde to the mix in Aries from March 14 to March 28, and you have a recipe for impulsive words and hasty decisions that could lead to misunderstandings. Be mindful of how you communicate. One poorly timed text or off-hand remark could cause unnecessary friction. Being retrograde, Venus will impede our usual harmonizing capabilities, so making up might be difficult. That surface apology won’t work- especially when you’re not sorry. A diatribe apology might not work either after Mercury (still reversed) drifts back into Pisces from March 29 to April 7. Then your biggest concerns will be organizational, finding the right words, or your wallet ; )

We will also be having a Lunar eclipse on March 14 in Virgo. Consider your habits and relationship to service. Watch resentments if your kindness goes unreciprocated. Connections that promote your neglect of yourself may end, or you may experience burnout if you’ve been over-giving or engaging in unhealthy coping mechanisms. Navigate this with cleanses, detoxes (habits or actual parasites ), and set firmer boundaries.

Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.” 

This last line from “Ode to a Grecian Urn” by John Keats kept coming to mind as I contemplated the upcoming transits. It illustrates how what we find beautiful in the actual world leads us to a transcendent truth, and whatever we experience as truth has sensual beauty.

Think of the Venus Retrograde as the shaking up of the snow globe. We shake because we want the show! That sweet moment of beauty reminiscent of splendid winter majesty! ( I know it’s corny, but hear me out ) Like that shaking globe, we need the chaos to have the synthesis we crave. The details matter. It’s not enough to go after the superficial or surface idea of what we think we want. A snow globe is not the same thing as experiencing winter in upstate New York. Have you ever been desired by someone you knew had not scratched the surface of who you were? It’s slightly uncomfortable and hard to trust because you feel them falling for aspects of you but not the whole and authentic you. Love-bombers had better not in March.

God knows what we think we want really is. So if you’re not getting that “thing” no matter what, back off from your agenda and be willing to see it. There’s nothing wrong with going after what you want. Still, proper alignment must be present, or the pleasure will become a prison fraught with pitfalls. Therefore, I beckon you to use this time to seek truth in all things and with an open, benevolent, and patient heart.

I encourage journaling, examining our values, and perhaps aligning more authentically with what truly gives us pleasure. Ironically, you won’t find the usual suspects in your life bending over backward to please you. Even if they sorta try, everyone will be the “main character” and, in their heads, take inventory of what feels good and what doesn’t. We will all be less inclined to express with reckless abandon and may even feel righteous disgust than ever when something, someplace, or someone isn’t “up to snuff.”

Let’s say it’s a special occasion so you get gussied up to visit a nice restaurant. You want everything to be perfect, but the staff is rude, and the food is terrible. A good time is now a lousy time. You could get big mad or let the retrograde do it’s job. You may come to reflect on the best times you’ve had lately with that special someone. You may realize it would’ve been best to stay at home or spend time in nature with a picnic or at your favorite low-key burger joint where your guard is down, and fries never disappoint. ( I have never had a good truffle fry, by the way. )

This isn’t the best transit for a dramatic haircut or splurging on new furniture. Still, it is the perfect time to dive into a beauty routine that lifts your self-image or work on an energy system that radiates attractiveness.
